Birthday...18th may

A Day to remember at Ile-Ife.

Clocking 26.

I clocked 26 today. Not a different feeling compared to that of yesterday. I just know deep down that a lot more needs to be taken. its a special day though(a whole kunle anjorin was born).
Started the day with a lovely lady(we had been talking for about 3 hours or more before 12am). We talked into the day. She wished me a happy Birthday first and gave me a warm Happy Birthday Hug before we left each other some minutes later. She walked to her room and I to mine. When i reached the corridor to my floor, i didnt want to go into the lonely room(my roomates were away). I just sat on the floor and then i got up, walked back to the car park and then towards the gate with a mind of taking a walk and brooding but something deep inside said Stop, go back. And i did.

I walked back through the car Park to my room but didnt go in. I then thought of praising or thanking God(something I did last year) I did this for a while not minding my friends who passed by. it was diffferent doing this. I wasnt scared of anything at that time. I could as dare anything. It was like that was my moment, any other being was under. with all joy i entered the room, went to Tunde's room, spoke to Tunde, Kike and Tosin for a while. some business propositions that i needed them to hep out with and then to my room. t'was great having the thought of making money no matter how small it was. (everytime i made money on my own by carrying out an idea, there's this joy and it cannot be quantified by a "gazzilion naira" given to me if it was just N300. And by this time the Texts had started rolling in. First came The postgraduate christian fellowship and then, ECOBANk, Mr Lawrence udeagbala(I hope i got the surname right), my dear friend mayowa, Akin Aguda, UNION BANK, Promise Ogbuagu, Bolanle Akinsanola. and then the calls..My Sweet mother, My Great Dad, My Great bro TeeJay all the way from odo-Irele LG in ondo state(He's on is youth service), My friend Tumi,MSc. course Rep. Samuel Ejughemre(not sure i spelt that surname correctly too), samuel sang me a happy Birthday Song! Whao! Cherished the moment. Then beautiful Dami Oyelade called, My charming sister called, then Tope Ayedona (not spoken to her in a long while), Eloho Udoro with over 185 facebook messages. Thank you all. thanks for the prayers too. I also spoke to ify after a while( she cald me on tuesday. I had not kept in touch for a while-didnt even know she went back to Niger to continue her service year after the Madalla bomb blast). Whew!, i could just continue on and on.

The Vacation Idea

Kiity and I differ on this. What is a vacation? What is a retreat? Kiity made me think of retreat. To me, every time away from work is a vacation. This is my simple definition.  I recall when I was studying. The same definition applied. Anytime away from school is a vacation. When the school is not in session, we are on vacation. The same has applied to my work life.  But Kiity sees it differently. She had to google this and the AI overview gave the feedback below: A vacation is primarily for relaxation and fun, while a retreat focuses on personal growth, self-reflection, and often includes structured activities aimed at improving well-being Kiity is right by this definition. I have told her.  In my own world, it seems definitions are simple and when adhered to, makes my life simple. Where did all this come from? It came from a post Kiity made on Polarsteps about "our first Family Vacation". I looked at it and said we had done a lot of vacations in the past based o...

An Open Letter to Kunfaiyeoluwa

I would love to draft a long letter to you. But the thoughts and words captured above say a lot that I want you to carry on for the rest of your life.  You indeed have a legacy to cherish and to build on. Your mum, grand-mums and great-grand-mums are one of the strongest and determined persons I have met and I know the seed lives on in you. Yes, I did come to know them all and I see the foundation you have to lean on. You are Royalty both Spiritually and by Land Origin. 1 Pet 2:9 reminds me of your spiritual royalty and the knowledge that you are of the origin of men who have reigned as Kings in Nigeria both in Kogi and Ondo States. Therefore, let the words scribed above by the Queen of the Southern Nigerian Kingdom bring light to you today and for every other day. I was watching a movie during the past weekend and it showcased a Father who stood by his daughter even when the whole community were against her. I would like you to know that I would be by your side from Day 1 t...

The Many Walks with Kiity

Ever heard of the benefits of 30 minutes walk everyday?  I bet you have. Walking is a great way to improve or maintain our overall health. Just 30 minutes every make a change in your life. I took a walk for 1 hour once and I felt the effects. It was about 8km in all and I could feel my legs tingling when I finished. The next day, the muscles spoke and I was happy.  Kiity and I enjoy taking lots of walks. We did that a lot in Nigeria both individually and together. I enjoy it more when we do it together. Since we arrived the Netherlands in April this year, we have had several walks and I enjoy it more when we do it together.   Walking over a small bridge, De Poel, Amstelveen I decide to take walks for many reasons;  - To exercise. - To clear my head and away from the familiar - To see the environment and new places. - To breathe a different air. The most important is to talk. This is when I do it with Kiity. We have to talk about something as we go.  W...
