I'm the wierdest human being alive, I know(abeg, I am unique..hmm, that's it). I also love God. I love his word. It has this energy that comes with it. I'm also the happiest human being alive(my opinion, choose yours). Anyway, maybe cos of the good gist i got today. I was invited for a creative writing workshop to be sponsored by Fidelity bank. I've always had this inkling for writing but never really pursued it outside my diaries. just like this that you are reading. Its sweet doing this at least or some minutes of my day. but then, some people feel "Is it that you were bored that you had to type all that went on in your day"....My people, No. I just find out that i love doing it. and I do it.
Talked with her today and I got this "i dont care" attitude from her and you know for the first time, i wasnt a bit bothered but then, its like I'm so hyper that nothing could bring me down(maybe its the I.V. i got or the positive thinking book i've been reading)....anyways sha....I tried to tell her..I know she's got exams and all but....you'll know if its still the same...it just isn't. She's an asset though...very hardworking and can achieve whatever she wants to when she puts her mind to it. i'm trying..probably not too well. There's this saying, .If you are afraid to fall, you will never get anywhere....just sayin something...its been a great day..got to drop the pen here..
Before that, The I.V. thing...I heard in 2010, over 1000 entries were made and 20 people were chosen...how come I was chosen? are they selecting more than 20...Was my story that good.Anyways, it wasnt a plain story..it was just a diary..something like this..though I had to toosh it up a little bit. One of those days when i went on a journey, the story is shown below...hope it makes sense to you...till my next entry...Happy Reading..
"Alakowe o!", shouted the short, dark skinned man walking along the bus garage. I looked to my right, a man carrying a tire over his neck walked by. I had been sitting on the pavement of the garage secretariat office for some minutes. I took my phone out of my pocket, checked the memo application and started documenting scenes that occurred around me. I noted the shoemaker making a unique sound with his tools, attracting people around, the bus drivers shouting at one another in their native tongue, “Emi lo fe wole, gbe moto e seyin, ki n wole” to which a reply came, ‘sebi won ba mi soro ni”, the guys playing the game of draft some metres away from the secretariat office, the pure water seller shouting “pure water” at passengers scrambling to get a bus going towards their destination. I also noted the jedi-drink seller who walked past me and two people carrying a picture of a lady with an ailment requiring surgery begging for money. It was a hot afternoon; my dad was on his way from Kogi State. His car had a fault which he couldn’t rectify as no spare parts were available. He had sent a text to me earlier while in the bus on my way to Ibadan to wait for him at the garage. He must be experiencing this in a new way, I thought, having to take a bus for a long journey after many years of driving his own vehicle. The transport system of the country had not helped as it was comfortable to take your vehicle on a long journey than going through the public transportation available. I thought of what had happened on our way to Ibadan. The driver had swerved recklessly to the other side of the road causing the passengers to speak out, telling him to be careful. This had not been the first time he did this. I had heard stories of accidents occurring on the highway with lots of casualties and also seen aftermaths of accidents as a vehicle I was in, passed by. How can the rate of accidents on the highway be reduced? Could it be the state of the roads or the nonchalant attitude of the drivers? Could it be that a party involved in the accident was drunk while driving? A story came to my mind of a colleague who was driving on a fateful day with a car speeding in an opposite direction towards him. He flashed his lights since he was on the right way but to no avail, their cars collided and we heard the news of their deaths some days later. The other driver was confirmed drunk when the authorities came to their rescue. This, I thought of with some conclusions. Everyone has a part to play. The state of the road with respective signs are important which the appropriate bodies should keep in check, the drivers should stay off an amount of alcohol while driving or intending to drive and every driver should drive carefully with a mindset of been the only sane driver on the road, obeying every road or traffic sign. As this went on through my mind, I got a call on my phone. “Boy, I’m here, where are you?” I answered, picked my bag and joined my dad as we continued our journey and yes, we had a safe journey.
That's it.
