30th July,2011

What a day!
Its not going to be your standard-follow-all-the-rules writing. Copied it out from my favourite notepad.

Today aint actually the real day but i am going to go some steps back in 24kinda hours telling you about my first day in Abuja. yes, i didnt just go to do JJC for fun. I had a purpose for being there. Apart from going to claim the land, I went for an interview. Lets save this file as 30th July, 2011.

it all started with me waking up in Moye suites at iyamoye, Kogi State. I had arrived the evening before with my dad, i joined him at the Ile-Ife round-about where Oduduwa university. We decided he was gonna drop me off at okenne, then i'd take a bus to Abuja. but Ome, as we got out after praying together in the hotel Room. people he talked to adviced him that he does not have to drop me off there but that i'd get a bus in front of the hotel. Hmm, daddy gave me cash sha, more than i tot i'd get for a trip to abj especially when i was close to the place but then, trip back too was there. i wonder should i say the exact amount(its not like it was one big deal like that). I got the Abuja bus at kabba. never mind their idea did not work , most of the buses were filled already. the trip was fun. i was just in sight seeing as i have never been on that path before. Lokoja happened to be a nice place, though not so fine as i expected but Ok sha. Hold up at Lokoja with 2 hrs on the spot did not help matters the more. we moved at last sha and then, abuja was calling. it was fun seeing the rash areas called abuja. I expected more but it was like the outskirts i was seeing did not help me with an idea of how the city was going to be.
I arrived at the park with still no clear idea. then the Myanya et maraba bus took me thru the main city and then to maraba at nasarawa state. hmm. see me, i just dey wonder, this Abuja fine o. especially the Wuse, Life camp part. i also heard asokoro, maitama is beautiful though i cant tell if i passed there.

Lets go further a bit. the next day was Sunday and it happened that i had planned on going to a church Dami attended(Winners, Life Camp) but then, myself and Dapo just couldnt find the place. we then, entered TREM by lets enter even if we do not knoww. It was fun all through. We had this three-hour praise session. Whew! Sweat full my trads.

The Vacation Idea

Kiity and I differ on this. What is a vacation? What is a retreat? Kiity made me think of retreat. To me, every time away from work is a vacation. This is my simple definition.  I recall when I was studying. The same definition applied. Anytime away from school is a vacation. When the school is not in session, we are on vacation. The same has applied to my work life.  But Kiity sees it differently. She had to google this and the AI overview gave the feedback below: A vacation is primarily for relaxation and fun, while a retreat focuses on personal growth, self-reflection, and often includes structured activities aimed at improving well-being Kiity is right by this definition. I have told her.  In my own world, it seems definitions are simple and when adhered to, makes my life simple. Where did all this come from? It came from a post Kiity made on Polarsteps about "our first Family Vacation". I looked at it and said we had done a lot of vacations in the past based o...

An Open Letter to Kunfaiyeoluwa

I would love to draft a long letter to you. But the thoughts and words captured above say a lot that I want you to carry on for the rest of your life.  You indeed have a legacy to cherish and to build on. Your mum, grand-mums and great-grand-mums are one of the strongest and determined persons I have met and I know the seed lives on in you. Yes, I did come to know them all and I see the foundation you have to lean on. You are Royalty both Spiritually and by Land Origin. 1 Pet 2:9 reminds me of your spiritual royalty and the knowledge that you are of the origin of men who have reigned as Kings in Nigeria both in Kogi and Ondo States. Therefore, let the words scribed above by the Queen of the Southern Nigerian Kingdom bring light to you today and for every other day. I was watching a movie during the past weekend and it showcased a Father who stood by his daughter even when the whole community were against her. I would like you to know that I would be by your side from Day 1 t...

The Many Walks with Kiity

Ever heard of the benefits of 30 minutes walk everyday?  I bet you have. Walking is a great way to improve or maintain our overall health. Just 30 minutes every make a change in your life. I took a walk for 1 hour once and I felt the effects. It was about 8km in all and I could feel my legs tingling when I finished. The next day, the muscles spoke and I was happy.  Kiity and I enjoy taking lots of walks. We did that a lot in Nigeria both individually and together. I enjoy it more when we do it together. Since we arrived the Netherlands in April this year, we have had several walks and I enjoy it more when we do it together.   Walking over a small bridge, De Poel, Amstelveen I decide to take walks for many reasons;  - To exercise. - To clear my head and away from the familiar - To see the environment and new places. - To breathe a different air. The most important is to talk. This is when I do it with Kiity. We have to talk about something as we go.  W...
