When the time comes - A note for Kunfaiyeoluwa

Here I talk about Pastors you listen to.

So it turns out that my parents took me to the Foursquare Gospel church from a young age. I still recall a scene when I should be about 2 years old where your Grandma was waiting for me by Iya sharafa's shop in Jakande Estate, Isolo, to go to church. The scene appears to be green in light. But I still remember.

Here I would like to tell you to remind me should I forget.

There comes a time in the late teenage years or early 20s where  you might prefer to listen to the word of God from the mouth of younger ministers than the ministers we introduced you to. This happened in my time. Though i still listen to the ministers my parents introduced me to but I realized god was doing more than what I had known. It was clear with these other Pastors.

I got to know the Foursquare Pastors of the time while growing up. But I learnt more of specific things with certain Pastor outside the Foursquare Gospel. I learnt of the Power of God, Sacrifice and our right in christ in a practical way with Bishop David Oyedepo. I learnt of doing life right with Pastor Kingsley- here I mean relationship with myself and relationship with others and there are a few others I can speak of.

I started to practice sacrifice with Bishop David Oyedepo. Sacrifice of time and of money. Time would speak of service and Money would speak of giving. And both people added the flavour I needed.

So when the time comes, that you happen to want to listen to these other men of God and I do 'ehnnn!' and become skeptical. Remind me of this note. I will still be skeptical but it takes time for me to adjust to new people or new ministers. But I do.

Do I realize you carry the life of christ as your name says? I do. You minister to people in your capacity. In the capacity that God has given you. The truth is that eyes have not seen or ears heard what God has in store for you.

With Love.

An Open Letter to Kunfaiyeoluwa

I would love to draft a long letter to you. But the thoughts and words captured above say a lot that I want you to carry on for the rest of your life.  You indeed have a legacy to cherish and to build on. Your mum, grand-mums and great-grand-mums are one of the strongest and determined persons I have met and I know the seed lives on in you. Yes, I did come to know them all and I see the foundation you have to lean on. You are Royalty both Spiritually and by Land Origin. 1 Pet 2:9 reminds me of your spiritual royalty and the knowledge that you are of the origin of men who have reigned as Kings in Nigeria both in Kogi and Ondo States. Therefore, let the words scribed above by the Queen of the Southern Nigerian Kingdom bring light to you today and for every other day. I was watching a movie during the past weekend and it showcased a Father who stood by his daughter even when the whole community were against her. I would like you to know that I would be by your side from Day 1 t...

The Vacation Idea

Kiity and I differ on this. What is a vacation? What is a retreat? Kiity made me think of retreat. To me, every time away from work is a vacation. This is my simple definition.  I recall when I was studying. The same definition applied. Anytime away from school is a vacation. When the school is not in session, we are on vacation. The same has applied to my work life.  But Kiity sees it differently. She had to google this and the AI overview gave the feedback below: A vacation is primarily for relaxation and fun, while a retreat focuses on personal growth, self-reflection, and often includes structured activities aimed at improving well-being Kiity is right by this definition. I have told her.  In my own world, it seems definitions are simple and when adhered to, makes my life simple. Where did all this come from? It came from a post Kiity made on Polarsteps about "our first Family Vacation". I looked at it and said we had done a lot of vacations in the past based o...

Dam tot Dam loop Business Run - 5miles or 8km - Done!

Yes, I did. And it was fun. I ran the Dam tot Dam loop Business Run 5Miles. And it was amazing to do this for the first time ever in 2024.  I got to know about the run about 2 months ago during a chat with Jana Reiss and I was interested. I had seen a friend and former line manager at MainOne, Ayomide, run marathons and amass medals from the run. I have also seen another former line manager, Vremudia run a lot including the marathons.  Living in the Netherlands made it easy to join the band wagon. You have roads with a bicycle path and the walk way aside the road for cars. Thus, I loved to joined the band wagon and have now taken part in the first long distance run.  I did the run the 8K in 1:08:10 Hrs. the best runner of the day did it in 25 mins. A pretty long way to get to for me. But I recall in my practice, the first time I did the 8K was 1:15:00 Hrs and the second time 1:09:00 Hrs. So a little improvement but definitely within my plan. I wasn't aiming to be t...
