Yes. It did.
I woke up this morning and remembered a scene in a movie series called Abattoir, where some fellowship students were praising God and their fellow student was raised back to life.
I immediately remembered an occurrence in our life. Probably two strange ones come to mind. But this one first. It was in April 2018. I had recently resigned from BEDC and would have to leave the BEDC training school where I doubled as the BEDC Power systems School training coordinator and Technical assistant to the South West Regional head of BEDC. I had to leave the Elizade University environment where we held the training courses. I drove in a Kia Rio 2014 with Kiity and were on the way to Alagbaka in Akure where our house was.
On the way, just by FUTA gate, some undocumented local government billers who looked like riff-raffs stopped us and put road blockers on the way. The car we drove in was partly private and partly owned by the bank. They mentioned that since the bank's name was on the document, we had to show local government payments. This was my first time and did not understand what they were saying. They held us down for about 45mins. I tried to forcefully get them off but it yielded no benefit, they were more. Then I noticed Kiity singing to God at the back of the car, clapping and dancing a little. I was wondering what was she doing at this time.
With all my efforts down the drain, I had nothing else to do. I just held back and looked at Kiity praise God continuously. Some minutes into this praise, I see a car pass by and it was the sport coach from Elizade University. He asked about the situation and when I told him, he told us to give him some minutes and before I knew it, the situation had turned around, he brought the police from a nearby station, less than 1 minute away. The so-called local government billers ran away at the sight of the police. Only one guy could not get away and he was taken to the police station. As a custom, I was told to give a statement and I did and we were allowed to go. The same local government billers was now begging for me to have mercy. I was still stunned from the turn of events to even understand what just happened.
I think of Psalm 22:3 which talks about God inhabiting the praises of his people. If you are a story freak like me, you would remember the story of Paul and Silas who praised God in the prison when wrongfully imprisoned and God set them free.
I now think of the Abbatoir series (Season 6, episode 14) scene of 'Dele' the character coming back to life. I understand better that God works in ways like this and even more.
