A Little History

Kiitan and I at Tunji & Sero's Wedding on November 2016

Its been a little over 3 months since we got married. Life has been ..... I still don't know I'm married. And that it comes with some changes.

I had to fill a form two days ago, there was a section that referred to status. I almost ticked 'single'. And then I said 'oh, I'm Married'. Maybe its because it's still new. It's always going to be new anyway. Our Father makes it new everyday.

At Lekki Conservation Centre on July 2013

I recall our first outing sort of. it was to Lekki Conservation Centre. Not that I planned that. I wasn't supposed to be there. She was to go with her cousins but I happened to be around.

The Unplanned Outing to Freedom park on November 2013
We have visited Freedom Park, Lagos about three times now. The first was not meant to be. I wanted to spend some time with Kiitan but then she didn't know my plan as I had not told her about it. She had already got a BRT ticket at TBS and would have boarded the bus but then She didn't. We had some nice time  seeing the drawings of some little kids and other art works present. We took lots of pictures too. The second time we visited was more of a stop over, the place was busier than the first time. We met Ifeanyi Dibia and talked a little. The third time was for wedding planning, writing out things and talking about them.

Explaining something to kiitan at Femi and Bola's Wedding on 29th October 2014
I remember seeing Kiitan after the church service (I got to the church late) and I was like Wow! She looked Wow! Her beauty shone brighter than I had ever seen at that time.

After Sunday Service at Davids Christian Centre, Lekki on June 2015
Every Sunday service I have attended at the DCC left me wondering how easy it is to live the christian life as Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo teaches bit by bit, simplifying every topic. I still yearn to attend service there. The online platform hasn't been working these days.

Kiitan visits the Nairabooks Store on July 2014
I was excited to see Kiitan at the NairaBooks store. Or Should I call it the Library now. It holds a lot of books presently. NBooks had kicked off about 3 - 4 months before this day.

I see the Saint movie. And then I see you.
Kiitan told me about the Saint movie. It's the kind of film you wouldn't regret watching again and again. We watched it at MIF's place. We were working also. Don't say I told you, She was chatting a lot that day.

Kiitan at Akure when we began the journey

Would you say you visited Akure without going to the Akure Mall? Hmm......No you wouldn't. It's a sight to behold. Never mind that it is small compared to The Palms at Lekki or that the prices of the items are more expensive even though they still use the LOWEST PRICES nylon to pack them. You would relish just being in another world in Akure. Thank God there is a cinema (Filmhouse cinemas) and the host of other stores that makes it a one-stop shop.

Love & More - Act 1

Right from the first day I saw you, I was drawn to you. Not love at first sight, but an attraction that I still cherish today after 13 years.  I still remember the many walks we took when we started talking. My-o-my, I loved talking with you. I still do. Maybe I was listening more, now that I think of it. The one thing I recall was you made it easy to talk and thinking of the walks between White House (Engineering Building) and Computer science Building including other locations within the Obafemi Awolowo University community? Still cherish them. You have come to show me another part of life, completing me in areas I am not as strong. Still a journey for me but I cherish the process even though I sometimes react to the adjustments. I cherish the results though. I love it when you are happy. When you smile (even at my dry jokes). I love it when you excel at the things you do. formal and informal.  I appreciate your thoughtfulness to things. I guess it comes with you being so st...

Love & More - Act 2

It has been a while we had the movie night. We have some history with movie nights I must say. From the times in Akure, Lagos and now, Amstelveen.  Whenever we watch, it exciting. I enjoyed the action movies and then the love ones. I enjoy all of it anyway cos we watch together. the taking it back so you understand better is not so fun for me sha..me i have moved on in cases like that.....but anyways, i agree with you.......better to understand the context. When did we start watching movies together?   Before we got married I guess. I guess this was in Lagos before I took the job with BEDC. Not sure if we watched any on our own or always with Bukky and Busayo. But anyways..the history was formed. Cinemas. one thing I loved about Igbatoro, Akure was the Filmhouse Cinemas at the Akure Mall.  and then those cozy evening when we did nothing but watch a move together. Do you always stay up when we watch? Now I have to write that you might stay up with the first movie but...

The Many Walks with Kiity

Ever heard of the benefits of 30 minutes walk everyday?  I bet you have. Walking is a great way to improve or maintain our overall health. Just 30 minutes every make a change in your life. I took a walk for 1 hour once and I felt the effects. It was about 8km in all and I could feel my legs tingling when I finished. The next day, the muscles spoke and I was happy.  Kiity and I enjoy taking lots of walks. We did that a lot in Nigeria both individually and together. I enjoy it more when we do it together. Since we arrived the Netherlands in April this year, we have had several walks and I enjoy it more when we do it together.   Walking over a small bridge, De Poel, Amstelveen I decide to take walks for many reasons;  - To exercise. - To clear my head and away from the familiar - To see the environment and new places. - To breathe a different air. The most important is to talk. This is when I do it with Kiity. We have to talk about something as we go.  W...
