Its the midst of the year. June precisely. Strange though but writing has become work to me. Ever since the Writer's bureau course started. I have sent in only one assignment out of 10. Lazy me right! And to think it was November I sent in that assignment. Wow! Are you that......ehm Kunle, You are okay. Too many engineering things covering you up right now.
Talking about Engineering. Hmm. A long story. I have attended interviews like never before. NAPTIN has been instrumental in making this a possibility. Big ups to them! E bi like say na only the Electrical engineers dey enjoy this interviews sha o. My Mechanical engineering brothers never even attend one. Now that's why I feel somehow. Since I finished the NGSDP programme, I've attended interviews with Microtechnologies Nigeria Limited (didn't hear from them- probably didnt fit), Schneider electric Nigeria (HR said they had others that had more experience), Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (This was the bane of it all, I'd say I went unprepared. questions came from left-right-centre - I learnt something from the HR lady though, always be prepared.
And then, BEDC- I had to write an exam with dragnet for this. I did. and I did again. I wonder why they called me for another test. I didnt perform as good as the first. Anyway, I know why. I was focused when I took the first. and then, when I took the second a week later, I wasn't in the right spirit (I can say so, abi?). The questions were the same. and I was wondering why. Test results were sent. 50% first and 43.33% second. Come to Benin for interview. Might I add that Dragnet has never sent me a message containing results before. Still don't know the cut-off though. Folks with score below 25 that I know of were not at the interview. Mostly 30-something. This time around I prepared, but not after asking the holyspirit to reveal the questions to me. I studied Pastor Olujimi's interview book, another I got from Mr Lucky Okiokio some years back, my NAPTIN books and my CV to detail. Questions were revealed o. why? because as I sat before the Nigerian and the Indian the next day, the questions they asked were what I read earlier. Though it was a chat, it was a smooth talking session for me. And then, I got the job.
Now back to writing, Let me send in my second assignment that I have done more than three times. Engineering could be a skill, the words will always be my first love.
