NAPTIN started and I didnt write

Ehen! I have "do" it again.

I haven't made an entry on this diary for a while now. beeeeeen busy. What da! never mind. I could still have typed but I was occupied with other stuff.

In a space of two months now, I've been to different places, travelled through different means. Yes I mean that one. Travelled by land(cars, buses, trucks-not Molue, na Ranger I mean o), travelled by air...Yes I broke the record. used the Arik air- Michael is the name. The flight to Abuja to attend the NAPTIN opening ceremony at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Sheraton Hotel was hmmm. I loved it. Imagine, the first time i traveled to Abuja (for an interview), I went by road and I spent over 7 hours. Man, I was tired of sitting. Never have I felt that way. But I did and then, here was the flight by air. Just thirty minutes? ehn! This is the one i want to be using. The only issue was that I got one tiny bread and one tiny cup of juice. Ha! Arik e o try at all. But sha, I got the WINGs magazine which was entertaining throughout the course of the trip.

I haven't finished. the power training course started about four or five weeks ago. I was posted to Lagos. had my two week orientation at the Akangba station in Surulere. then got a posting to a power station. Chose Egbin thermal power station as the first choice (I got this). and Olorunsogo plant as second (Thank God i didn't get this).

Egbin power station has been fun,. just spent a week now. Got an accommodation at the staff quarters, an estate on its own. Sapele close. Fifteen guys in a six bedroom apartment. Three in a room for some guys and two in a room for two groups. I got the three in a room. Sharing it with Aitiemi, a Winners member and one other Anambra dude. Man, the Anambra folks in the programme are many.   About 40 or more, the largest number from a state.

I didn't forget, I've been travelling by sea too, using a speed boat to cross between Badore, Ajah and Ijede, Ikorodu. Wow! I enjoy it when I do. Its just unusual. Maybe I'll get bored if I do it continuously.

In all, its been good. Met the workers on the plant. Seen around the plant too. didn't know a power plant could be that big. Looking at owning some in the future. 500KMW capacity!

The Vacation Idea

Kiity and I differ on this. What is a vacation? What is a retreat? Kiity made me think of retreat. To me, every time away from work is a vacation. This is my simple definition.  I recall when I was studying. The same definition applied. Anytime away from school is a vacation. When the school is not in session, we are on vacation. The same has applied to my work life.  But Kiity sees it differently. She had to google this and the AI overview gave the feedback below: A vacation is primarily for relaxation and fun, while a retreat focuses on personal growth, self-reflection, and often includes structured activities aimed at improving well-being Kiity is right by this definition. I have told her.  In my own world, it seems definitions are simple and when adhered to, makes my life simple. Where did all this come from? It came from a post Kiity made on Polarsteps about "our first Family Vacation". I looked at it and said we had done a lot of vacations in the past based o...

An Open Letter to Kunfaiyeoluwa

I would love to draft a long letter to you. But the thoughts and words captured above say a lot that I want you to carry on for the rest of your life.  You indeed have a legacy to cherish and to build on. Your mum, grand-mums and great-grand-mums are one of the strongest and determined persons I have met and I know the seed lives on in you. Yes, I did come to know them all and I see the foundation you have to lean on. You are Royalty both Spiritually and by Land Origin. 1 Pet 2:9 reminds me of your spiritual royalty and the knowledge that you are of the origin of men who have reigned as Kings in Nigeria both in Kogi and Ondo States. Therefore, let the words scribed above by the Queen of the Southern Nigerian Kingdom bring light to you today and for every other day. I was watching a movie during the past weekend and it showcased a Father who stood by his daughter even when the whole community were against her. I would like you to know that I would be by your side from Day 1 t...

The Many Walks with Kiity

Ever heard of the benefits of 30 minutes walk everyday?  I bet you have. Walking is a great way to improve or maintain our overall health. Just 30 minutes every make a change in your life. I took a walk for 1 hour once and I felt the effects. It was about 8km in all and I could feel my legs tingling when I finished. The next day, the muscles spoke and I was happy.  Kiity and I enjoy taking lots of walks. We did that a lot in Nigeria both individually and together. I enjoy it more when we do it together. Since we arrived the Netherlands in April this year, we have had several walks and I enjoy it more when we do it together.   Walking over a small bridge, De Poel, Amstelveen I decide to take walks for many reasons;  - To exercise. - To clear my head and away from the familiar - To see the environment and new places. - To breathe a different air. The most important is to talk. This is when I do it with Kiity. We have to talk about something as we go.  W...
