What a day!

Learning to lease the web. I have come to understand that companies are not perfect. Learnt that at my last job. Neither am I anyway. When I left BEDC and spent about a week at MainOne..it felt like what we know as Word and opposite. The BEDC experience was whack..compared to MainOne. It still is anyway, from what I hear. Let's not go too far..it is more of a process thingy for me.  I would always be grateful for the MainOne experience. I would never have learnt about real business if not for MainOne. I had a great time at BEDC while I was there but there was a need for more. MainOne gave that to me. I got to see companies competing with one another, I got to see marketing in full view including the interactions between the different arms of business in a different light. And then the need for more came again... This is where Leaseweb came into the picture. It's a really long story to tell of how I came to be at Leaseweb.  Yes - Another Relocation. Leaving Benin Electricity Distribution Company for MainOne meant leaving Ondo State, Nigeria for Lagos State, Nigeria. It also meant Kiity would have to return to Lagos. She had left Lagos for Ondo state after we got married.  Looking back, I could tell that I have had to move from one location to another due to my work or due to jobs I accept.  This time around, the job offer I got would not only take me away from Lagos but away from Nigeria. This also meant Kiity would have to move. If you have read my earlier post, you would know I had craved a move away from MainOne. Things looked promising with the acquisition by Equinix which meant MainOne would become Equinix West Africa - An international organization which would see me have colleagues in every continent in the world. But I chose to leave.  I got a job in the Netherlands before the end of February 2024. And I would have to resume on the 1st of May, 2024 at the Amsterdam office. I ch...

MainOne I mean.  I did say I wanted to move. And I made the decision in February 2024. I signed up with another organisation and was to resume by 1st May 2024.  In the picture above are Yours truly, Ebinabo, Patience and Korede. They are colleagues who were around on Thursday evening before I left the office. Thursday 25th was the day before my last day. The Technical solutions team (product team was a part of this) had organised an farewell event for me...the Sendforth..Heard some wonderful words..Sayo, Gbolahan, Lola and a few other people were present.  They also gave me a  beautiful card with each person sharing their words and signing...I recall I received a similar card when leaving BEDC but this was close to home as I had spent the last 6 years here.
